Have ANY of you HRC (owners at other resorts, but in the Hyatt Residence Club system) successfully waitlisted into Maui? I have seen someone post that they just lucked in (Memorial Day 2015 I believe) for an exchange thru Interval. I am looking to make the booking within Hyatt but of course the wait lists are not very transparent. Looking for a fall booking, and was told by Sales person at Highlands Inn to not bother trying for a 1 bdrm since there were so few units, so I make all my searches for"ALL " unit sizes.

I realize not many folks are going to give up their first year week with a new resort - just cannot see if there is any point trying or skipping this year.

I do not own at Hyatt, but most of the weeks at their new Kaanapali resort are still unsold. There are currently a few weeks listed as Getaways on Interval. (A week or two ago there were loads of them.) I would kind of expect Hyatt to make some bulk bankings into Interval, so I think this first year is probably one of your best chances to get a trade. We toured the resort last November, and it is true that there are very few 1BR units. I don't know anything about the inner workings of Hyatt's internal trading system, but it would seem logical that there would be availability with a supply like this.

NOTE: This thread seems misplaced on the Non-Traditional Interval Ownership board. I think it would get more responses on the Hawaii board.

A month ago there were some listings on the Hyatt site for trades but they went quickly

I posted this question in the "Non-Traditional Interval Ownership" area because it really is specific to HRC members using CUP waitlists to get into Ka'anapali, not via II. I am looking to find CUP waitlist experiences on this property. What the reply from BocaBoy might seem to suggest is that unsold weeks will be deposited to II but not available to HRC owners, which also is discouraging.

I suspect Hyatt will use most of the unsold inventory for marketing and they currently offer 5 night stays for reduced prices if you attend the sales pitch. I have seen 2 and 3 night availability on the Hyatt internal trading site. Here is what's available now:

Thank you. Best sightings i have seen i had not been looking at 3 night stays, since the sweet spot for point usage for us are 4 and 7 night, and 1 bdrm are rare if not impossible there. Pondering now. You helped me modify my search strategy. We have a current offer for 5 nights for 199/night and a timshare sales presentTion, but reallydont jwant to pay out of pocket when we have the only timeshare we plan on already and are market in the market for one at Maui prices...but we will be more clever. Hrrp is coming up and cup leriod expires for us in June

Just curious.... Is the Hyatt TS in Kaanapali not doing well or not selling as they thought it would?
