My wife and I are interested in heading out West in mid to late April 2007.

We're considering trading into the Hyatts in Lake Tahoe, Breckinridge, Beaver Creek or Aspen.

We're not skiers, but enjoy traveling around the mountain areas and getting some time away together.

Are there pros/cons other posters can pass on about trading into these resorts at that time of the year

Thanks in advance.

I can tell you the cons:

It's "mud" season and most of the ski resorts will be closed...or have very limited runs available...so the winter crowd will have left. A lot of shops and restaurants close to allow the owners to go on vacation. It's cold. There is very little to do as most winter activities are done for the season and most summer activities have not begun yet. Hiking can be difficult as most trails either have snow or are very muddy.

If you want peace and quiet...and you don't care about having much to do...you'll certainly find solitude. From the perspective of a typical tourist, however, it's probably the worst time of the year to visit.
