Hi forum

I have found this listing on eBay:http://www.ebay.com/itm/201130664428

With a starting price of 0.01$ sounds too good to be true? - I know you are supposed to bid.

Also your are not able to pay with paypal, is this normal or ??

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hilton Tuscany HGVC is in Orlando. And that seller hasn't sold anything in 30 months. I wouldn't risk a penny on that listing.

Once owned these: FirstFairway@Walden X 2; Lawai Beach; ManhattanClub; PuebloBonitoRose; 4 South Africa--now timeshare-free
I don't believe that ebay listing is accurate. I live next to Las Vegas and I know where the Tuscany Suites & Casino is located. I've never heard anything about there being any HGVC units at the property, and I can't find anything about it online.

I found this article from 2012 about an HGVC property in Tuscany, Italy.

The auction states the 2013 fees were paid and your first use is 2015. Watch out, you may have to pay the 2014 fees with no use.

Also the bottom of the auction follows the same format as some of the other sellers who have given many Tuggers a hard time.

As noted Tuscany Village is Orlando, Tuscany suites and casino are in Vegas. Does this seller know what he's selling?

I reported it under Listing Practices, Other, Item Location Misrepresentation.

Thanks for all your answers. I thought it looked a bit suspicious :annoyed:

I haven't bought TS on eBay before is it normal that you can't use paypal for some or all part of the costs and have to use regular money transfer?

Regards Michal.

I believe HGVC International Drive (I-Drive) in Orlando use to be called Tuscany (Village).

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...s_on_International_Drive-Orlando_Florida.html

FYI: HGVC now has a TS within Tuscany, Italy.

Sounds like a number of issues. The seller doesn't know what he's doing, lack of experience, doesn't follow HGVC, did little research, and the paper work for this TS probably does refer to it as Tuscany Village.

Because of all of the above, when the seller saw Tuscany, saw a Tuscany in Las Vegas, and erroneously assumed that it was in LV. Obviously didn't read the paperwork including the legal description.

I don't think you really want a 1-bdrm, 3400 point, red/gold, week any way, even if they gave it to you and paid all the closing costs. You pay the high MF's, for so little points.

There are certain eBay timeshare sellers who won't accept paypal or credit cards.

If you do a search of them here on TUG you will find that they are also the ones who have a bad rep. Imagine that, you can't use a payment method that gives you some recourse so when things go sour you are stuck.

I will not buy from any of these companies that don't take credit cards even if they offer exactly what I'm looking for.

He finally answered the questions and added information about HGVC Resort in Orlando - but didn't remove the LV Tuscany Casino crap and pictures.

How anyone could bid on this mess is beyond me, imagine relying on this guy to record a deed for you, he can't even manage an eBay ad.

agreed this is really sad.. I know the Tuscany Casino and its not even really near any of the LV HGVC resorts. Definitely would not trust buying a timeshare from this seller..

Sadly it appears there are 5 bidders already. False advertising to me.

I feel bad for the seller. The agent has bungled this listing so badly that any serious bidders have probably moved on.

John, Michal,

PayPal actually prohibits the use of their service for real estate sales transactions:
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/helpcenter/helphub/article/?solutionId=FAQ799&topicID=&m=ARA

It has nothing to do with the rep of the broker. In fact, this could mean your "reputable" brokers might be breaking the rules if they do ask for/accept PayPal! :) if one does use PayPal for a transaction like this he/she is not covered by any PayPal buyer protections.

There are also plenty of poorly-considered brokers that take credit cards (I know, I bought my first resale via credit card through one of them). Go figure...

A 1 cent opening bid has no bearing on the validity of a listing. Unfortunately this one apparently had a lot of other things going against it.

Looks like the seller updated the listing.

2014 fees were paid & it is the Orlando location.
