I am looking at buying points on ebay but had a few questions. 1) I can deposit one week of wyndham to trade for one week in rci? 2) Can I do guest reservations for family members for a cost? 3) I have been reading articles on the new wyndham club plus so does this mean my points would only be good at my home resort. This was very confusing to me. Thanks

CLUB WYNDHAM PASS -- CWP(lus) is the deeded to a resort set of points. CWA(ccess) is the Vacation Club of Points. PASS is not yet released - but might be using developer brought points to exchange ($99 fee) for either/or Shell Vacation Club units, Worldmark units and/or affiliated resort unit(s).

ARP is deeded in CWP(lus) for earlier/advance booking at your Home Resort ....

Learning curve with all the alphabet combinations takes awhile - keep notes as most of us learned this as they rolled the confusion out as NEW & BETTER sales stuff.

You do not deposit weeks to RCI

what you do is deposit your Wyndham points to RCI and then using the Wyndham RCI portal, use those points to make RCI reservation

generally the number of points needed is what this chart says. but actually the numbers vary according to supply and demand. I would use the chart as a guide to the maximum points required for an exchange

This chart comes from the owner dirrectory which, if you are going to consider Wyndham, is required reading

Isn't Shell's participation in Club Wyndham PLUS highly speculative at this point ?

I think thats why Linda used the word might and put it in italiss.

Her point is that Club Wyndham Plus is different from Club Wyndham Pass (the op was using the names incorrectly)

David -- crystal ball reading for Club Wyndham PASS. No hints of Shell resorts going into Club Wyndham Plus.

The confusion over WHAT/WHICH the term "CWP" will mean in any discussion will not doubt be ongoing.....

So will the eBay resale be cwa or do I need to look for a certain type?

Look closely and STILL ask the seller ... the MF per point SHOULD be the SAME for all CWA contracts being sold on the resale market.

Plus, there is NO HOME RESORT - but eBAY requires a "home resort" for the listing. That might be WHERE you are getting confused - outside of the soup of 3 letter identifiers.

I suggest you READ the Wyndham Primer here on TUG. You really need to spend a lot of time learning before YOU BUY something. What is the old saying "Buy in HAST; repent in leisure" ... The leisure might be the time it takes for you to unload a "undesirable" resale TS purchase.
