Is there a way to reconfirm other than by phone like online or something. I'm going to Italy in 3 weeks on UA. A couple of years ago in Ireland I spent a very long time on hold to AA, racking up a bit of a charge on my hotel bill. I don't want to get a European cell phone for this one use.

You should be able to register, and view the reservation on their website.

I agree with Denise, view the reservation online up until the day you leave, flight schedule changes are the norm.

I would also print out my boarding passes and pay any baggage fees online.

The less hassle at the airport the better.

PS: If you do call UA, you will of course be talking to someone in India :(

Reconfiguration of flights especially international ones is a relic of paper tickets and Tue 1980s.
No need, as others have said just check any late changes online.
Even then things change at the airport. I had a terminal change on a Caribbean flight this winter.

I check our UA reservations regularly online. If you have a smart phone, UA has a very useful app.

In the distant past, if you did not reconfirm an international return reservation, it could be given away. As others have said, that's ancient history. Nowadays, it's simply smart to go online to check your flight times and, before you head to the airport, check-in and print your boarding passes. Your hotel may have a business center where you can do this or will assist you in getting it done.
