I have a unique situation that popped up. I will be returning from a trip arriving at Newark Airport. I will have to get a train home but my friend wants to meet me in the city and go to a Yankees game. That creates a problem. I will have a carry on bag and a duffel bag. I cannot bring them into the stadium. I cannot leave them at my friends because he is taking a train in to meet me. I am not aware of any place these days with lockers. The one thought I had was looking into taking Amtrak and finding out if they will hold bags at the station but it will probably be a number of hours.

I guess I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Check them with a bellman at a hotel.

If I stay in the city and get a room I can do that but if I decide to head home after the game that idea won't work. Thanks for the suggestion

Don't need to have a room to check bags. They'd never know

I have done exactly what Irene has done, just find a hotel with a busy lobby (there are many of those in NYC) and leave your bag with them. I have also left my luggage at Penn, but that place is so crazy, I prefer hotels.

At every hotel where I have checked luggage, the FIRST question I've been asked is, "What is your ROOM NUMBER". I suppose you could say that you are waiting to check in, but on those occasions, I've had a bellman check their computer for a reservation in my name.

YMMV.

Same thing here, they've always asked for a room number.

Why not try large hotels and tell them the truth, while handing/showing the bellman a $20 bill?

I have never been asked my room number and I have left luggage with the bellhop dozens of times.

My experience has been the same as Tante's - I've never been asked for a Room number.
