We were notified today that Marriott waived ROFR on our 3-Bedroom lock-off unit at Lakeshore Reserve. We paid 10k. I know that the maintenance fees are substantial, but we're hoping that we enjoy it as much as we have our Manor Club 2 BR Lock-off which has been a great value. We use it some and trade it some. :cheer:

I have a question about 13 month reservations. I've always made our reservation via the website. Do I use the same process, but at the 13 month window? Is this an automatic function if you want to reserve concurrent weeks once you own at two properties?

No, you have to call in to make concurrent/consecutive Weeks reservations using the 13-mos window. It's still a 9AMest release time, and here's Marriott's tool to determine the Inventory Release Date.

Thanks, Susan. That tool is very helpful.

Thanks!

It is the "standard" platinum - weeks 1-5, 18-52. We typically reserve the July 4th week at Manor Club and we wanted to have the possibility to use the 13 month window, or to go at Christmas time. My sister lives in Orlando.

Just an fyi if you don't already know. With the 3BR Lock-off you have the ability to reserve the 3BR lock-off or the 3BR Town home.

I recommend that you research the 13 month rule. When I bought my second Marriott, I thought that because I owned two weeks (one platinum and one gold) that I qualified for the 13 month rule. I wanted to use the rule to book the efficiency side for the first week and the 1 br lock off side for the second week. But I sadly found out that it doesn't work that way. Marriott told me that I had to use two separate units. If both units were in the same season, then it probably would have worked like I wanted. But because the units were is different seasons, I could only apply the 13 month rule at the cross-over weeks. But the cross-over weeks have a lower TDI/trading power.

It is consecutive or concurrent weeks at the same or different resorts. You can use portions of a lock-off but not if it is just two parts of the same single lock-off unit.

Also, you could or might have to actually own different seasons if you own at different resorts. The key is being able to book consecutive or concurrent weeks. So if the seasons don't overlap, you are out of luck. At the same resort, as long as the season is the same, you are fine.
