I was hoping someone could help with my wish for additional starwood option points. I now own 67,100 points at Harborside and banked points for one year and combined with 2016 points allowed me to go to St John. I loved it and now want to purchase additional points so I can go to St John each year. It seems as long as I buy mandatory resort I can buy resale and then combine points to make a st john reservation. Think I have figured out that part. But, what I do not understand is if I need to sell what it cost to do so. It seems with Harborside it will cost 2000 but is that true of the other starwood resorts? i want to think ahead as I know the resale is not good and I may have to give away so I want to think about the cost to transfer. Any insight would be helpful. p.s. not that i will want to sell but I would like to know if all the resorts cost as much as harborside to transfer.

Harborside costs a lot to close a sale as you need a Bahamian property lawyer to convey the deed.

If you want to go yo WSJ every year and need to buy more then best buy where you want to go and buy resale WSJ.

I would not count on using SOs to go to WSJ. Up until recently, it was challenging for mandatory owners to get...who knows what the future holds.. If you really want to go there frequently, I would advise buying.

SVV is really inexpensive to transfer as you can record the deed yourself. And I agree that WSJ is difficult to reserve using SOs but it really depends on how flexible you are.

I agree with both post above. Buy WSJ if you want to go there.
