Are ALL HGVC Non Smoking?

I had to call HGVC the other day to hold a handicap room for me and requested non-smoking (which has never been a problem). Even in Vegas, we can easily get a non-smoking room/floor

The VC then told me that ALL HGVC properties are non smoking.

Is this correct? Since I am not a smoker, I was pleasantly surprised by this, but I just don't know if it's true or not. No offense to smokers, because I am not an anti-smoking hater, but I do prefer non-smoking public places.

Can anyone confirm that ALL HGVC properties are ALL non-smoking?

I'm not sure that all are non-smoking. We'll be staying at Las Vegas Strip location in October on a mini-vacation and when I talked with the Confirmation Agrent yesterday, she asked me twice if we wanted smoking or non-smoking. We've stayed at Parc Soleil twice since Nov. and I b elieve that this is a totally smoke-free location.

In the Member Guide's description of resorts (pp.49-127), the "Resort Attributes" paragraph contains a "Non-Smoking" statement for most of the resorts.

The following do not have such a statement and thus, presumeably allow smoking in some units:
Florida -- Seaworld, Plantation Beach, all SW Coast resorts (except Sunset Cove);
Nevada -- All Las Vegas resorts; and
Foreign -- Mexico, Portugal, and Scotland.

Of course, some of these may have non-smoking policies not reflected in the Guide.

What surprised me is when she said ALL HGVC resorts are non-smoking, but as is pointed out, Vegas has smoking floors. So, I was surprised to hear this, because I was sure Vegas resorts had smoking rooms.

While things are changing in Nevada, smokers still have lots of options, wheras here in CA, smokers are being more and more squeezed out of pubic & private places.

I wonder if the new locations are smoke free and could be reflective of what is practice in the state. I would assume that insurance costs would be lower as would cleaning for all non smoking hotels/resorts.

We stayed at HGVC Waikoloa a while back and had a cigar smoker on the balcony below. Rules state there is a set distance from the building one could smoke and he was asked to move away from the building. So while the rooms were non smoking, smoking is allowed in designated areas on site.

State law in Hawaii prohibits smoking in all hotel/timeshare rooms and on balconies/lanais. You also can not smoke in restaurants, even at tables that are outside on the patio. Most hotel/timeshares have an outside area away from the building designated for smoking.
