I'm sure there is a thread on TUG somewhere for this but I just did a RCI points exchange for a 3 bedroom at HGVC Seaworld for next May.

I know HGVC has extremely nice resorts and I know that any requests that I have may be considered but not guarenteed but does anyone have any recommendations for the best building to ask for or any other good requests? We will be traveling with 4 adults and 2 children (2 and 4).

I am a Hilton Gold Member which probably doesn't make any difference with this exchange but it never hurts to mention it I'm sure.

Thanks for any information that may be helpful!

I think all the buildings are nice. The HHonors gold status will come in helpful. You can bill various items to your room. If you pay for these items using your HHonors AmEx, you will earn lots of points very quickly. Remember that the Going Global redemptions are the the best way to go.

I did an RCI exchange into Seaworld, asked for Somerset on a higher floor with a lake view and they gave us exactly what we wanted. I called the resort directly and asked. Somerset was close to the pools and newly renovated but we only had a 2br, not sure if 3br units are in that building.

Personally, I would request a building close to the main pools, especially with kids. I have found that the pool noise is not a problem, and the convience of being close to the pool, restaurant, coffe shop, etc. is nice. I usually call about a week before checkin with any room requests and have had good luck with that.

I called in and asked for a building with a view of the fireworks. The guy did mention that only one building had a view of the fireworks so \i didn't really expect it. When I checked in they put me in the building the farthest out and with a view of the maintenance yard and buildings. Definitely NOT impressed. Also we left one day early from the large side of the unit and our friends who had stayed in the lock off side were staying the last night and paying 169 for another night. I asked if they could clean the suite one day early so they could enjoy the larget unit and said they would not need to clean it the next day so it should work out even. They said they would. Well according to our friends all they did was change the sheets on the master. They did not put out clean sheets for the hide a bed or even pick up the dirty towels from the floor. They did not clean the bathroom even. I feel like they took advantage of our frinds and us.

Don't get the units directly across from Seaworld. The road noise is loud and you're right around the corner from a rather active fire substation.
