Question about staying at West 57th

Hi all, we just purchased a resale and are new HGVC owners. We are going to be in New York in late October and I was hoping to get some advice on the chances of getting into West 57th. We are staying Thurs - Saturday night....I know about the 44 day before checkout timeline for non-57th street owners (such as us)....my question is...can I reserve Thursday night at 44 days before, then the next day, change the reservation to Thurs-Fri nights, then the next night change the reservation to Thurs - Sat nights? That is assuming availability of course...but can I do that without change fees reserving online? I know West 57th has a 1 night minimum stay so I think I can do this.

Any advice?

Hi Rich,

I honestly haven't tried it for w57 but in theory it should work as you described above.

Just keep in mind.....
(1) The booking window starts at midnight eastern.
(2) All consecutive nights must be booked in the same exact unit size/view if you want to avoid another fee.
(3) The system will attempt to make a new reservation based on current availability excluding the dates you already have reserved. The only way around this is to release your original dates (so the system can see availability) and quickly rebook them before someone else does. However you don't have to cancel reservation to release the original dates. Just pick some other date using the changeable reservation option and go back to rebook. That's what I've done.

It seems like W. 57th availability are released a certain day(s) of the week.
I booked prime nights (Thanksgiving, 4th of July, x-mas, etc...), and checked at exactly 44 days out, but those days were not available at exactly 44 days out. I checked every day and night, and could see that Hilton release availability on certain day(s) of the week up to 44 days out.
For example, easter weekend nights were not available at 44 days out, but those nights were released on 39th day all at the same time (39th day until 44th day), so I could reserved 4 nights at once, I didn't have to extend a reservation day by day.
So keep checking the availability, you may can reserve your desired nights.

I finally got into 57th Street!! I've been checking several times a day for the past 10 days...got up at midnight the from time to time, and had not been able to get the Thursday - Sunday reservation I needed in any room type until this afternoon. Availability definitely changes many times each day, I guess as people cancel/change their reservations. I was checking at midnight eastern time at least 5 of the nights and never saw much of anything change at midnight other than a day here or there....I really didn't think I'd ever get in. We got a "1 bedroom plus" room, looking forward to seeing it and enjoying the long weekend in NYC.
