Hi, looking for anyone who has had experience renting from a Royal REsorts owner. We own week 10 @Royal Haciendas and are looking to rent week 9. Found someone who wants cashier's check or money order, no PAYPAL. I have rented my CV Marriott week 2 years running per Denise M's suggestions. I email rental agreement requesting 10% paypal deposit. Once funds are rec'd, I contact Marriott to have renter's name added to reservation, then forward that to renter., They confirm with resort and then wire balance via Paypal. How do I know this person has legal access to the week she is renting to me? Is process different with ROYAL? As TUGGERS are THE BEST, I am looking to you for assistance.

Thanks much!

I have not rented from a Royals owner, but I have been renting our Royal Islander and Royal Sands villas, suites and lock offs, since each of these resorts opened. The person you are renting from can give you their membership/contract number, and tell ISCO to verify their ownership to you. You can then call ISCO to verify their ownership. I am surprised that over the years only ONE renter asked me to confirm my right to rent the unit I was renting them.

I have not rented from a Royals owner, but I have rented in other locations, and always asked my prospective 'landlord' to give the management/developer permission to confirm their right to rent, including whether or not the annual fees have been paid.

I mostly rent out units, but have rented from others too.

You can ask the owners to call ISCO (1-800-930-5050) and instruct them to allow you (by your name) to call and verify their names and address and that they are members in good standing.

I like to be paid by personal check. Leaves a trail of addresses and bank accounts. I've never had a payment issue or a bad check. All checks clear well in advance of any occupancy, but likely to them the cashier check just sounds better.

Whoops sorry, I repeated a lot of what RFW said, I missed that. I ,however, don't give out my member #.
