We'll be spending a week at the Massanutten resort in Virginia. It appears we have our choice of three Summit locations; Summit Peak, Summit Grenoble Woods, or Summit Innsbruck/Sunrise. It's our first trip here and we're wondering if there are advantages/disadvantages to any of these locations. We have three 2-bedroom units reserved for our family of 13; my wife and I, our 10 kids ages 12 through 27, and a 5 year old grandson. We're very active and plan on skiing, snow tubing, hiking, caving, and whatever else looks cool. Thanks for any and all advice and tips.

If you are renting from an owner, than the owner already has a specific unit reserved. If you are exchanging through RCI you can request a specific area but they generally just randomly assign from the available and ready units at time of check in. I have no idea how it works if you are renting directly from Great Eastern (Massanutten). If you are renting from an owner and they haven't rented a specific unit yet, then they can request from any of the areas but owners can start reserving 2 years in advance so depending on when you are going, the choices may not be so open. I always like end units so you have less neighbors to worry about. This is the page with the maps: http://www.massresort.com/v.php?pg=205

I exchanged in through RCI. When I called Massanutten, they told me we can choose our building/units when we check in. It's first come first served so the earlier we arrive the better our selection. Based on the map I'm leaning toward Summit Peak just because it seems to be out of the way and off the beaten path.

Does anyone know the age or conditions of the various Summit buildings?
