Do getaways get cheaper the closer to the time they are available?

Donna, they generally do. For example we went for many years to Royal Resorts in Cancun during Nov-Dec, and the getaways would start to be priced six months prior at about $650-$850, then they would drop to as low as $247 or $336 a two bedroom. We always waited until one month to two months prior to book. But II will sometimes jack up prices - usually only temporarily - there can be huge back and forth between pricing from one day to the next. I would watch the prices for a while - if you tell me when/where you are looking to go, I may be aware of the variation in prices, since I have been searching/watching getaways for years in many locations.

I've never had to use it but II does guarantee that if the Getaway price drops (for the same size unit and date) after you make a purchase they will refund you the difference.

Thought that sounded a little too good to be true.

Here's a link to the T & C. THe lower price must be found within 24 hours of booking the Getaway.
