Yesterday I just booked 3 back to back weeks at Oyster Pointe in Sebastian, Florida. I had to combine some weeks to get these.

1st week needed 25 points
2nd week needed 27 points
3rd week needed 23 points = total 75 points needed

I combined 4 weeks (3 were leftover points from other trades)

44 points - 20 points - 12 points & 15 points = 91

After we were all finished and I looked at my account I did not see the 16 points back in my account so I called. She said the 3rd week (23 points) was 39 points which used up all my points - WHAT THE......!!!

After looking at my notes I had written down - I am correct - so how do I convince them they owe me 16 points??? :wall:

Ouch! I always take a screen shot of my online account before I make any changes...

good idea - for next time. I guess I should have put this in the Lounge. Do you know how I can get it moved?

The Lounge is for NON-timeshare posts - I will move it to the Exchanging Forum.

Was the third week a particularly popular week?

I'd be escalating it up the food chain I think, especially if there are weeks similar or around what you exchanged for that support your claim. Maybe get the technical side involved to see if they can see what happened?

A hard lesson if you end up SOL.

Problem solved!

I got a very nice guy on the phone and he confirmed that it should have been 23 points and not 39 so I now have a 16 point credit in my account. Not as much of a hassle as I thought it might be. :cheer::cheer:

FYI - Xmas week is 25 points!!

Good for you. Sometimes, I hold the unit for a day before confirm, just to make sure.

Nice that it all worked out for you, without too much hassle.

Can someone confirm a simple newbie question related to this? Saying you lost 16 points, does that mean 16,000 and that people are just dropping the zeros?

No not 16,000. I am a weeks owner not a points owner.

Judy is using points to refer to what is also referred to here as TPUs, which I think are trading point units. Every week is given a certain number of TPUs on deposit and it costs TPUs to "buy" your exchange from RCI.

It's the currency that RCI switched to a few years back in a bid to provide transparency to the exchange process.

Totally different than RCI points.

Oh, Good. All is well. You might modify the header (edit/advanced [edit it]/Save) to indicate it was resolved.

Torontobuyer, these are RCI's TPU points in the 'weeks' side. They use small numbers like this.

Yes, it seems there are a bunch of newbies at RCI. I got 2 people saying one thing, then 2 other people saying the exact opposite thing, all while not making any sense as to what they are talking about. Is this due to the Wyndham take over? It is very frustrating and I hope they get their act together sooner rather than later.

How do you take a screen shot of your transaction? Do you use a cell phone or is there a button on the site you can press?
