Good evening!

I'm sure that I'm missing a thread on this somewhere, but I've searched and searched.

We are thinking about purchasing Wyndham Points enough for a 1 BR for a week at the Great Smokey Mountain Lodge in Sevierville TN. The one with the Waterpark. Here's my question.

Is there usually availability at the park for The week before Christmas if you don't have the 13 month booking window. It is proving difficult to find a point package deeded to that resort, but I can find all kinds of packages elsewhere. Do I need to hold off purchasing a package and wait for the one deeded for the water park? I'm fine with booking 10 months out for it, but will that be enough time to ensure availability. Anyone willing to check to see if it is currently open for Dec. 17th to Dec. 24th, this year?

There is availability for the week of Dec 16-23rd this year. I believe the week before Christmas you should not have a problem booking at 10 months.

Last Oct 8, I booked the week of 8/3 of this year booked a 1 bdrm and a two bedroom. If that helps give you an idea of availability. A summer month when kids are our of school.

Yes, but kids in much of the South go back to school the week of August 1st (not to mention August availability doesn't necessarily correlate to December availability).

True but the week before Christmas is much lower demand than the week between Christmas and New Years.

FYI the (indoor) water park closes for maintenance generally the week following Thanksgiving week.

Yes, I would think it would follow similar to Glacier Canyon with the week before to be pretty wide open (at least weekdays for sure), and the week after to be tough.

Does not correlate but it gives one idea of availability in a true life situation
