As a refresher, this 10 year old kid sung the National Anthem at an NBA San Antonio Spurs game. He "nailed it", sung it perfectly! Why was he hated on Twitter? Because he is Mexican-American *BUT* he is an American citizen by birth. The Mariachi outfit is perfectly fine, shows what Texas is made up of: about half of San Antonio's residents are Hispanic, primarily legal immigrants from Mexico.

Anyway, the city of San Antonio and the SA Spurs have invited him back. And, who knows, the racist/prejudiced.bigoted Twitters may show their idiocy again.

The young man in my humble opinion did an outstanding job; plus he was dress in the Spurs team colors.

He is wonderful. I looked forward to him singing when he was on America's Got Talent. Glad the city invited him back.

It seems like the people who tweet their complaints do so more than the people that tweet their admiration, just like in real life, imo.

Good job. Too bad many people are so ignorant and have forgotten their own roots and the varied population our country has always been made up of.

Kudos for San Antonio and the Spurs.

Being down the road from San Antonio, and one who recommends that city as THE place to visit if wanting to vacation in Texas, I must say that San Antonio made a great decision in having this young man, dressed the way he was, sing the national anthem.

This is San Antonio's heritage (and Texas' for that matter) and they should be proud of who they are and what they have become. SA is a vibrant, rapidly growing city with much to offer in the way of culture.

Disclaimer: We visit the San Antonio area every year. :)

KUDOS TO SAN ANTONIO!

I watched both of his performances on youtube last night and was very impressed with his talent. That young man has a great voice.

Cute kid, nice outfit, mature attitude. That's the trouble with social media. People weigh in who really should be present at the scene in order to make an intelligent comment.

It's silly to give him grief. How many times have I seen the same kind of thing elsewhere, but the singer is dressed in Scandinavian, Irish, or Scottish traditional clothing? Mariachi ARE musicians, so why the big deal? The boy did a great job.

Listening to SportsTalkRadio here this afternoon it was GREAT to hear some of the support this kid was given from ESPN, CBSSports, etc commentators. That's the way to combat ignorance, with reasonable disagreement.
