Thanks for the info! I've been exploring it - there seems to be a lot more information, organized and easy to find.

Are you searching on royalresorts.com, or for an exchange through Interval?

I am doing a search through RCI (I don't have and II membership yet, although I am working on getting one with my Sheraton) and I am searching on the Royal Mayan (I think there is one other of the royals that exchanges with RCI) but I chose the Royal Mayan as my friend owns there and highly recommended it. I am searching for Spring, Summer of 2009. I just go to the website and salvate.

If you do get an II membership, you could also try to get into the Royal Caribbean and Royal Islander to increase your chances. They are connected to the Royal Mayan, and except for decor and some minor differences, basically the same. Once you're at one of them you have use of all three.

Good advice but once you are in one of them you get to use all FIVE Royals in Cancun. There is a shuttle service between all Royal resorts.

Absolutely - though wandering among the Tris goes on all day and evening (at least for us), while going to the Sands or VCI requires a bit of planning - e.g. get out of wet bathing suit :)

Thanks!! I used your advice, just realized that I am eligible to set up both an RCI account and and II account, since I own with Sheraton Vistana :whoopie: so I am going to bank my week to see if I can pull one with my deposit.

Virtual Tours on New Royals site

I'm not getting any response on the new Royals BBS. The virtual tours are not working on my computer. Is anyone else having that problem?

Also, I just noticed the most recent pictures they have posted for the resorts. They are def. not recent, some are even pre Wilma.

I believe I asked that question at a meeting at VCI a few weeks ago, as they did not mention RCI. They said their affiliation ended when the trust ended.
It is not VCI any more, it is Club International. New trust, new name too.
