David and Robin must be having a second honeymoon at WSJ, because David hasn't even logged in since the 11th! ;)

Hope you're having fun! :hi:

David and Robin are doing fine. David was a little under the weather and they had some travel issues (David said it will be a long post).They extended their stay and will update everyone when they return.

This thread feels like I'm around the watercooler at the office.

We could use a drink... of pure H2O {repeat}
and some liver detoxifier that is specific for rum

we got in a 2AM last night after 18 hours of travel...

so much to add - just do not know when I will get the time.

We were denied boarding in STT by AA because we arrived at the airport too late. Probably could have made it, but AA was backlogged with charging people for luggage tags - and they needed their $15/bag versus getting us home (we had boarding passes). Return day (Friday) was a day from Travel Hell - especially with being under-the-weather.

We will NEVER fly AA again - I do not care how much the savings are...

We spent 3 extra nights on STJ - just me and my love (our friends made it out since they only had carry-on bags). WSJ put us up in a 3BD pool villa (gratis) - THANK YOU WSJ!!! {a thank you letter to WSJ management is forthcoming}

They truly turned a lousy experience into one that Robin and I will cherish always.

more later...

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear about the trip. 3 extra nights for missing your flight? Now that DOES sound like it deserves a letter to management. :)

Thanks. No computer - no work - no TUG...

It was partly their (WSJ) fault - and Mother Nature's - and on me for being too trusting (aka rum dumb) as not to perform the STJ-STT travel-time math.

...but it all worked out for the best - not bad for a lowly 3*.

I must say - those 3Bd private pool villas (updated ones) are the way to go - no doubt about it - one of the best resale buys in the SVO system - too bad it is just the 2 of use because what a great deal for a family. If it were more than just the 2 of us - I would be in the market - or would have purchased one there like jerseygirl did.

I will try and get a thread going w/o stealing the one from Transit (Frank) - who btw found us because of the photo thread.
