Did anyone else notice that the price for the RCI extra vacations just went up from approx $179.99 to $215.99?! I knew I should've booked yesterday!

Did anyone else notice they are renting our exchanges

Don't know about you, but my MF's are much more than that.

It is a great business model for RCI, inventory at no cost, that can be rented for profit.

However, sometime there has to be a correction.

Whether another pure exchange company arises or something else.

In the long term my MF's are going to be non existance the way things are going.

Personally, I have no use whatsoever for RCI --- but a cost of $31 per day (up from just $26 per day) for rental of a full condo is still hardly larceny.
For actual larceny, however, check out many other RCI practices....

I don't mind paying for services I use, but I really dislike being gouged for things I didn't ask for. Ever-increasing fees and charges on top of charges is ludicrous. Worst of all, losing quality exchange options so RCI can rent out the deposited week smacks of usury and fraud.

When I first started in timeshares, I joined RCI to get the (presumed) most from my timeshare options. I've since bought and sold a few timeshares, until I've leveraged myself into a situation where I own resorts I'll actually use, and one bi-annual week to rent or exchange. With the independent exchange companies out there, I have no further need of RCI or their misleading, extortionistic practices. When my RCI membership expires, I won't be renewing it. Not dealing with them in any way, shape or form is the only way to fight back.

Timesharing is supposed to be about increasing vacation options, not about lining the pockets of a deceptive conglomerate who thinks we're all stupid.
