Hi, We are going in August and just received a stay request form.
I have seen older posts about building requests, but I also understand that there is some refurbishment going on. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which buildings to request? We have 2 kids...ages 9 & 11. Would prefer to be closest to the activities for kids, but still in an updated villa. View would great too, but location is best. Thanks!

I like a lake view, and that is always what I request.

recently visited Cypress Harbour and would recommend Building 61. This is near the "Activity Center" and next to the "small" pool. The center has a video arcade and has boats and such available for rental.

From there, you can easily take their boat to the Main Pool Area.

50, 51, 52, or 53 would be my choices. I like being next to the main building, marketplace, and take out grill area. Also, you are near the fitness center and tennis courts. You get a view of the lake and fireworks at Seaworld

I have no idea, but the big re-furb years ago put in the granite, upgraded appliances, etc. I've never noticed any units there to be shabby or in need of repair. I haven't been in about four years, but before that I was there three out of the prior five.

I agree. Building 61 for families with active kids. We spent Thanksgiving week 2015 there. Units appeared to have been refurbished. Our then 11 and 12 year olds lived at the activity center next door (and nearly all kid friendly resort activities were held there). Mini-golf, basketball, pickleball, foosball, pool tables, model slot-car racing, Ping-Pong, video games, fishing, boat rentals, pedal bike rentals, ice cream socials, arts and crafts, etc. were all at the activity center.

We also enjoyed using the water taxi to go back and forth across the lake. It's a nice 5 minute ride and makes Cypress Harbour unique (unless there are other MVCI water taxis out there I don't know about).

Would definitely go back with kids.

I would say 55, 56, and 57 are most recent.....
(53, 54 had just been done when we went early February, and they were starting #55)

I just left this resort today. We stayed in building 56. It was refurbished and looked great. There was no view and we were about 4 buildings away from the main pool. Overall I thought it was a great property.

I just returned today from Cypress Harbour and stayed in Building 50.. Wow! I was impressed how nicely it was done. We watched the seaworld fireworks from the balcony last night - was good but short.. Started around 8:50 and was done at 9:00 PM I believe.

The only Marriott resort in Orlando we're familiar with is the Grand Vista. How does this resort compare to Grand Vista? Are there places to eat near Cypress Harbor?

2015 TUG thread: Golf course closing? [Grande Pines at Cypress Harbour]

Orlando Business Journal 12/16/15: Exclusive: Revamp to start on Marriott golf course near SeaWorld

This notice pops up on the resort page: "There will be ongoing development and construction on the land adjacent to the resort with a tentative start of mid-2016, continuing until further notice. Please direct any questions to the MVW Grande Pine Development inbox at mvwgpd@vacationclub.com or by phone at 407-238-6190."

So, has the development adjacent to Cypress Harbour started? Are there any updates from the BOD?

They are very close to each other, so I would say it's the same selection of restaurants.

I'm looking for information, and I'm frustrated. Several months ago, I had set up back-to-back trades for early May 2018 to Ocean Pointe and BeachPlace Towers. An email notice arrived that BeachPlace would be under renovation for our planned dates. My wife is a very light sleeper, and does not like being around construction, so she asked me to change our plans. I was able to find an ePlus retrade into Cypress Harbour to replace BeachPlace, but now I'm seeing construction potentially all around Cypress Harbour.

So: if anyone has stayed at Cypress Harbour recently, now disturbing is the construction going on around the resort? If we keep that week, will that affect our choice of building?
