Got trade to St. Kitts

Hi, I'm so excited that we got our trade to St. Kitts and it only took about a month or so. We'll go the last week of August which works for us however, I hope there are no hurricane problems. We traded the 2 bdrm Aruba Surf and got a 2 Bdrm at St. Kitts. Now I see the tricky part is getting there. We have a Fri to Fri reservation. It seems the best option is out of JFK. We live in NJ.

If you have ANY suggestions for how to get to St. Kitts I would appreciate it. Right now fares are running $600+ each. Is this normal?

Thank you!

Congratulations! Isn't that the greatest feeling?
Check the charters. Sometimes you can get a charter, direct, nonstop to St. Kitts.

Congratulations. We also got an exchange into St Kitts yesterday for the week of Oct 2-9 and we used our MOA one bedroom for the trade.

Congratulations on your trade, you will love it there! The Marriott property is beautiful and being connected to the hotel is great and gives you a grander resort feel, IMO.

Unfortunately airfare normally is that high, but you are lucky that you have a FRi - Fri because that is usually cheaper than the Sat & Sun. fares. Our tickets for last April year were $869pp and that was a Wed - Sat flight, much cheaper than the Sat-Sat flight.

We usually tack on a day or two (or three - what ever I can get away with) at the hotel to help make the plane tickets cheaper. We can only book Sat-Sat so we found that this helps. We feel that if we are going to spend x amount on tickets for a Sat- Sat flight and the hotel & food for the extra days equals less than the extra for a Sat flight, we rather spend the extra money on the hotel & food and starting our vacation early.

Hope this helped
Have a great time!

We were on St Maarten at the end of August, this year. Any tropical storm activity was several hundred miles away to the northeast and did not come close to threatening us. But it all comes down to a matter of bad luck to have a storm track as far south as to threaten St. Kitts.
