Question Eagle Trace at Massanutten without a car

A friend's family is going to stay at Eagle Trace (Valley). His wife does not drive. He has to come back and work for two days that week. Is there anything his wife and kids can do without a car? They called the taxi companies listed on resort web site. They are all 15 miles away and charge $36 to come out. Kids are 10-14.

Many thanks for any suggestions,

Jane

She might be ok. It will be quite a hike to get to the pool and waterpark area but doable. The resort has some off site bus trips that might be available on the days she needs them. She could call and find out. She might want to think about asking a friend with a car to visit for the days her husband is out.

Thanks! They were told they are 1.7 miles from the pool area. Is it safe to walk? She said she is ok with the distance.

Does the resort have a shuttle?

Maybe she could give the manager a call in advance and ask if there is an employee who she could hire to give them a ride to the main building and back to their unit one or both days. It can't take more than 20 minutes and maybe someone would be glad to do it for a modest taxi-type cost when they were starting and ending their shift.

Resorts: Mountainside Villas, Summit at Massanutten
It will be perfectly safe as far as walking but a bit of a hike back from the pool areas as that will be uphill unless they are in the ones towards the end of Del Webb Dr.

I certainly would be glad to help out if my family is around or I would be glad to send an employee to help them.

They may also want to consider just renting a car for the two days. We use Enterprise in Harrisonburg quite often if we have vehicles in the shop. It is located on University Blvd. on the same street as the KMart for anyone familiar with Harrisonburg.

I just reread the original post and realized they are staying in the Valley units so it will be flatter than walking back up to the Ridge units.

Thanks,
Cindy

Thanks for the suggestions. I will forward it to them. The resort does not have shuttle service at all.

Cindy, thank you so much for your offer. I will send you a PM with their information just in case they need help. She can not drive. I am not sure why. But I suggested the rental car also and he eventually told me she does not drive. I met her tonight. She is really looking forward to the trip. She plans to call taxi to the rec center if it is too far to walk and have the kids spend a day there. At least he will be there to help them settle down.
