Don't feel bad. We were all new once. Some are now a little shop worn than others, me included.

I can mention Tim that in the thread Denise pointed to, I'm currently going through escrow having purchased an EOY 1-bdrm unit at the Grandview in Las Vegas from 43namal on eBay last week. This is a duplicate of a purchase I made at the beginning of this year (only difference is EOY odd instead of EOY even), and the process he used went very smoothly (using Timeshare Closing Services, Inc.).

This was my first RCI points purchase, so I was a bit nervous, but everything went fine (it took a while, though...purchase was Jan 12, got the contract in email the next day, sent everything back and received a confirmation email saying the title company had received every a week later, and then heard nothing till Mar 3...almost 2 months later. I got a "how do you want to transfer your RCI points?" email, and then actually got start using my points over a month later, so about 3 months for the whole thing).

So far, it's going the same way this time around...got a confirmation email the next day, and then just today received a confirmation letter (postal mail) saying the deeds being prepared for the county recorder.

Anyway...I know this is only 1 data point and your experience may differ if you're looking at a different resort (or if they use a different escrow/title company), but this seller seems to be working out OK for me.
 
I have bought several timeshares through this Ebay seller, over a 3 year period, and all went very smoothly.
 
When we talked about him before, didn't we decide 43namal and laman34 (the same name, only reversed) were the same guy?

Yes, they are the same. There are a number of different sellers in the same company. I have purchased from them. smooth transactiono; they are very reputable.

Folks,

I too am relatively new with posting(s); but, I have been a long time TUG viewer. Before I purchased I did most of my research on various E-Bay sellers here on TUG.

I started my E-BAY purchase process on June 6, 2009. First I communicated with each of the three or four prospective sellers that I was potentially about to deal with.

Naturally, I gravitated to the ones who picked up the phone and responded to my questions professionally. In some cases I left messages and never heard from the sellers.

My first and all subsequent purchases from 43namal were professional, quick, and efficient. The initial person that I spoke with and followed up with was Nicole DeCarufel who works for Mike Saylor.

By the way for those who do not know 43namal is one of four USERNAMES used by VI Network, INC. which is a Orlando Florida corporation. They also use laman34 (which a previous poster pointed out is the reverse of 43namal).

In some of their auctions you may see any of the following USERNAMES as Seller: Cybernaut34, Cybernaut303, 43namal or laman34.

Because I was so impressed with their professionalism, efficiency, prompt responses, and attention to detail I gave them 100% of my business. Since the initial contact I have purchased the equivalent of four contracts from 43namal totaling 469,000 points. (one auction involved 210,000 points Every Odd Year and 210,000 points Every Even Year).

Just as previous posters have stated once I won each auction I immediately received a confirmation E-Mail from both E-Bay and the seller. I spoke with them daily prior to the end of each auction and most definitely after the end of each auction. All went extremely smooth.

They use Timeshare Closing Services, Inc. for Escrow and that company is also extremely efficient. By June 11th all of my auctions were finished and by June 15, 2009 Timeshare Closings Services, Inc. had started notifying me by mail that the Deeds were either in process or had already been sent to the appropriate Court House for filing. Any concerns about anything that came to my attention has been quickly and smoothly rectified to my complete satisfaction.

It will take time for all the Deeds to be recorded and it will then take additional time for the Resort to make the transfer official; but I anticipate having all of my points available by the end of August and no later than October. (Your Experience May Vary)

Do your homework and make sure you understand what is being offered then act accordingly.

I've purchased two from Cybernaut303 (SDO and SBP). Both transactions went smoothly and quickly; the last took exactly 19 days from close of escrow through deed recordation to recognition by Starwood.

They are a postcard company using powers of attorneys, but from the buyers' perspective, it is a very efficient operation.
 
Credit where credit is due

Considering the number of bad sellers and closing companies, I just wanted to add my recommendations for this seller and closing company...got my deed in two and a half weeks from ebay close.
 
I have purchased three different weeks from these sellers and everything was handled very well each time. I have nothing but good to say about them and the closing company (Timeshare Closing Services). I was surprised how fast and efficient they were. They are highly recommended by me.
 
I'll add my positive review. I've bought from VIN twice and in process of a third. Everything has been handled quickly and efficiently, and they're my default seller if they have what I'm looking for.
