We visited Gettysburg several years ago and did one of the coolest things we ever done on vacation. They had personal guides for the area at the visitor center. He got in the car and drove us all around the area to the many different battlefields and told us all about the different sites.
What a great way to have history come alive!!

I was in the museum last year when it was free. It is awesome. My son and his friend were bored (age 13) unfortunately, but it should still be a fascinating place for kids if they are in the mood. Disappointed they have to charge now, because the old museum had also been free since it was built. Times change.
