Car Rental in Atlanta

Been searching for mini van in Atlanta for Columbus Weekend. Through AARP it is $292; today received an e-mail from Hotwire and can get minivan for $214. Understand will not know which company until it is paid for. Never used Hotwire before. Is it too good to be true, or should I book it?

I can't say it will be true every time, but I just had a very good (and much less expensive) experience with renting a car through Hotwire in Las Vegas. No problems at all. I believe they promise it will be a "major" rental agancy, so you should be ok.

We used hotwire in June for Orlando. We needed two minivans. Hotwire's price saved us over $400 per van! Easy, painless process. I would definitely use hotwire again.

The only problem is that if some last minute emergency comes up and you cannot go on your trip, there is no refund of the fee from Hotwire. You may, however, receive some rimbursement if you have a travel insurance that covers such an event.

Almost always use Hotwire

Since our son lives in Atlanta, we fly and drive frequently and I rent using Hotwire the majority of the time. You normally will get Avis or Hertz and the rental car area is pretty easy to find. It's a pretty ancient system and you have to shuttle to the outlining lots but it's close to Hartsfield. Another thing I've noticed when we rent van's through Hotwire is we usually receive the Kia Sedona's (smaller, cheaper) version but if you're there for just a long weekend, it shouldn't really matter.

Thanks for the information. It definitely is cheaper going through Hotwire.
