Are resale points added in the same account?

Hi Everyone,

We are considering adding another HGVC (resale, of course.) We currently own 7,000 points at MarBrisa. My husband wants to verify that any points that we add will exist in the same "bucket" as our current points and not in a separate account that cannot be combined. I feel certain that the answer is yes after all the reading that I have done on this forum. But, I would appreciate the input of you experienced resale buyers. Are there any exceptions to the rule. I know that in Scotland and Bay Club future points are available until you have paid your MFs. Are there any other funny rules we should be aware of that might impact what resort we choose for our next purchase? Thanks for all your insight...

Emily

You can combine HGVC developed resorts under a single HGVC account. The legal names on the new deed must appear exactly as shown on the deed of your existing HGVC property.

But the affiliate resort rules vary. You may want to verify with Seth or Judy. For example see these old threads
Separate Accounts for Affiliates? - http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82656
Better to combine 2 accounts or leave separate? - http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87927

My affiliate has a different account than my HGVC specific build purchase, (both resale) but only because they have different rules about prepayment of MFs before points become available. If you have to have 2 accounts you can just move the points between them by calling HGVC. If the rules are the same and you accidently end up with 2 accounts you can just call HGVC and combine them in a single account.

Just making sure that you understand, you owe MarBrisa which is an affiliate not a true HGVC resort. So like the other affiliates you may have to jump thru more hoops to pool your points than owners of true HGVC resorts. But you still should be able to pool your points.

Probably depends on what you have and what you're buying.

I haVE 2 accounts--1 for my HGVC developed properties and 1 for The Bay Club an HGVC affiliate. When I purchased a second Bay Club resale it was added to my current Bay club account.

We own HHV Lagoon, purchased from Hilton, then purchased 2 units at Sea World resale from Seth - all points show up in our single point account

I talked to Hilton

Thanks for all the great responses. I decided to go ahead and call Hilton and ask. The customer service rep told me that because MarBrisa is an affiliate I would have to have two accounts. However, he confirmed what others have said, which is that I would be able to transfer points between accounts. He said it would be an easy phone call each year after the points were credited. Of course that is more work than having one account, but given the price of resale points right now, more than worth the hassle to me. :)
