Do you have a Kohler Memoir toilet?

Mine is one year old. I'm having a huge problem with the front narrow bottom part getting dirty, and none of my brushes reach it. The minerals in the water sit there and have made a deposit that I can't scrub off (with an old toothbrush.) You can't drain all the water to use mineral cleaners, plus I don't want to etch off the porcelain by frequent scrubbing. Anyone dealt with this? The toilet flushes very well with little water and is quiet, so otherwise I'm happy with our choice.

We have had our one-piece elongated Memoirs Toilet for two years and have not had the problem you describe. Maybe you want to contact Kohler to find out if your unit is defective.

We have hard water here and I find the toilets stay much cleaner if I use one of the cleaning tablets in the tank all the time.

WalMart sells a toilet brush with a two section brush-head - the regular downward-pointing part, and a second section that is angled up. It's bendable, so perhaps you can change angle to help with this problem.

I've got to wonder at the "Memoir" name - who wants memories of what went into the pottie?

The coating on the toilet is much harder than any cleaning agent, or scrub brush.

Impossible to damage the finish unless you hit with a hammer.

Most of the new toilet instructions say not to use the bleach tablets in the tank. How about a denture tablet left in the bowl overnight? Or how about some Calgon to soften the water? My problem with the new shapes is that our plunger is not effective. We have had to resort to using the garden hose to flush out clogs.

Speaking of Toilets... Recommendations on best flushing toilets??
