Lakewood Resort, McHenry, MD as a trader?
Hi all. I go to Deep Creek Lake once a year or so and like the area very much. I wondered if anyone can give me some firsthand experience on how summer months at Lakewood resort trade? I imagine I would opt to use the unit if I bought one, but it's nice to have a feeling about how useful it would be to get to other locations. It's affiliated with II, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I know some folks who had a week at that resort. I think they recently sold it but they were always complaining that they could not get a good trade from II. Now they had an April week and wanted Myrtle Beach in the summer, so maybe that was the problem.

I think that you are looking at a limited market for Deep Creek. It is a popular destination for folks in the surrounding areas, but I am not sure how desireable it would be for people who live outside a 200 mile radius. Even in the summer it can be cool at Deep Creek. I doubt there is much activity at all in April. I can see why they had problems exchanging for a summer Myrtle Beach week.
That said, there are not many options for timeshare, and there may be enough demand to make a summer week a decent trader. Of course, you could also rent out a summer week. |
