Nothing Firsthand
I booked a week in a 1BR unit last year for some family friends, but I have never been there myself. Overall, they reported good things. The units were completely updated inside a year or two ago -- granite countertops, new appliances and furniture, etc. They're small with pretty tight quarters and are entered through an open exterior hallway (a motel-type configuration that my friends weren't crazy about from a security standpoint). The pool area was nice but very busy during their summer month visit. Most units do not overlook the Gulf but rather the pool/courtyard area. My friends mentioned that there are small resort properties immediately behind the Sea Club and people often walk through the Sea Club grounds to reach the beach. Parking is limited to one car, although the management worked with my friends to find them a spare space since the husband was commuting to Tampa and back for work a few days during their stay and they needed two vehicles. There are complimentary watercraft rentals available to resort guests and beach chairs are provided. The Siesta Key beach has that fabulous, nothing-like-it-that-we've-ever-found powder white sand. Even if the resort was a dive (which it's not), that sand makes it worth the stay.
For what it's worth, those same friends visited us at The Sandpiper (also on Siesta Key) earlier that same summer and said that they would much prefer The Sandpiper to Sea Club V.
