Hi,

I am wondering the likelihood of getting a # Bedroom unit in Early December of Next year at a DVC resort through RCI, am I better off trying to get a member to exchange with my Hilton club or something like that. We are not too date or resort picky but my extended family wants to all go and stay inside one of those. We have an exchange for Beach club next month so we know we can get regular 1 and 2's with no real problems but the 3 is my main wonder

Thanks

Nathan

When DVC was in II, I think I saw a total of 2 3brs(one was at their Hilton Head resort).

The first 2 weeks of December are very, very popular with members. Low points time/Xmas decorations plus the annual DVC meeting.

I don't know about the Hiltons, but DVC doesn't really have a lot of 3br units. So you would need to do a direct trade, not sure on the point totals for early December, but my Fri-Fri at Thanksgiving time is taking 576 points for a Saratoga Springs resort 3br.

Early December is the highest use time of the year for DVC members so you may have difficulties exchanging. It's the cheapest as far as points which is why DVC members go there that time of the year.

For the past two years, I used my OKW points for the first week of December. I got OKW 11 months in advance. Once it pass the 7 months mark, almost nothing was left at WDW resorts. Now with the free dining offer extended to December, you might have a better chance. But 3 bedroom would be extremely hard at any time.

You would have little problem finding a 3 br in a nice resort off site in the area. I'd go that route if it were me. We exchanged for a 4 br this year starting 12/19. The kids are in school until the 18th, but I've seen tons of large units show up for the week prior to that. Just not DVC.

Outside of Disney

What about availability for 3 bds for resorts outside of Disney, like Bonnet Creek, Hilton, etc. for the beginning of December.

I too, am going around the same time next year but I don't care about DVC.

We would suffice with a 2 bd but 3 bd would be nice so that we can invite one more teenager along.

Thanks!

You should go to the TUG Sightings board and do a Sightings Request. (Other owners can tell you what they can see on II and RCI.)

Grand Beach has 3 bedroom units in Orlando, and so does Summer Bay, Cypress Pointe, Orange Lake and even the Hiltons. I think you would have an easy time getting something, if you have a good trader.

Would a 2 BR and a 1BR work for you, or do you all need to be in the same unit? If you have enough adult supervision to use 2 units, you'll increase the likelihood of availability.

Marriott's Grande Vista has 3 bedrooms that pop up alot, just don't remember if they had any come up around Dec., but you could put in a request.
