I'm in a transaction with SellingTimeGuys as the broker and Elite Resort Transfers as the closing and escrow agent. Has anybody had any experiences with these companies and how has it gone?
Also, how long has it taken to close the transaction?
Thanks!

The" search" feature is your friend...

If you do a little searching on these names on this site (see search "button" at the top of this page), you will discover that "Elite Resort Transfers" is basically the "in house" closing entity for SellingTime Guys. In short, they are likely some or all of the very same people.

I'm not a fan of "foxes handling henhouse affairs" in closing processes, but you can read the existing posts yourself and draw your own conclusions...

I would ask who is going to prepare the deed, and if they are licensed to practice law in the state where the timeshare is recorded. If they say the person is not, I would then tell them you are going to contact the State Bar of that state to see if it is legal for an unlicensed person to charge for preparing a deed. Alternatively, I would suggest that you will find someone yourself who is qualified in order to prepare the deed.

Good, sound legal advice provided above, but know in advance that...

Many eBay mega-sellers attempt to require use of their own "in house" closing entity, for obvious reasons (they control the process and make extra money collecting and pocketing the closing fees).

In short, before digging in your heels, you may want to decide how badly you want this particular week.
If / when you attempt to identify and utilize a closing company of your own choice, the seller may simply decline. In the final analysis, an eBay timeshare auction is non-binding -- for either party.

I have purchased one of my timeshares through this group with Elite as the closing agent. It went fine without any problems. The entire time from purchase to closure was 6 to 8 weeks.
