Ain't going to happen - too hard to type from iPhone.
Needless to say we are having a blast. The Park Lane was a great choice for us. We could live in this room if it had a kitchen - they told me it's the only one like it - and I believe them. Go ahead and post link if you can find it. Later.

Have a wonderfult time!

I hope you will have that luck at the Pulitzer and in Paris too! (That is - if you are still going there.)

No laptop this trip?

GREAT room! How did you get the best room in the place????

Yeah, those rooms in Europe are always way too small :hysterical:

(And yes, I think I'll be changing my reservation from the Belgravia to the Park Lane! :))

Thanks for the video post!

Very cool to post now with YouTube--a whole new dimension of trip reporting! Great room--with all that space it's too bad they didn't add a kitchenette. Thanks for posting.

David - I added [Starpoint Trip] to you title so your thread, hopefully, won't get moved. When I tried to post my Hawaii trip here for my Starwood friends to share, someone reported me!

You know me and 'rules' - no worries if it gets removed -- why would I care?

On the Park Lane - YMMV - I asked for a room change because first was to close to the lift - then lovely reservationist moved us to this room (351, Marborogh) - it is off Picadilly so noisey street. The studio suites are not the best situated rooms - may be better with exucutive room facing courtyard on 8 th floor for quiet - but this one was way too cool to turn down

we do like the Park Lane - about 2 city blocks from Green Park Tube - Le
meridian in Picadilly Circus is too
much in the crazy zone for us

I hope I'm half as lucky as you

I will be staying at the Sheraton Park Lane in October. As a single traveler in Europe, I sometimes get put in rooms the size of a broom closet. Starwood is usually good to me though.

I was concerned about staying here because the reviews on Trip Advisor are not very favorable. Your room looks wonderful though! Thanks for posting your video.

Please let me know if you find any good places nearby to have breakfast.

Carol

We stayed there for 2 nights on our honeymoon in 2000, back when I had zero Starwood hotel clout. Our room was about the size of your bathroom...

Great location though...we had a blast!

I have heard this - my advice is get an executive room from what I can figure. 8th floor facing inward. Our 1st room by the lift was a studio suite which I used SPs for (Chelsea Room) and then moved. Almost move to Ex Room and took back SPs - but then getting 351 - never got a chance to thank Apnid for the special room. Now at Hotel Pulitzer Rm 290 - the room is nice but the same size as just the LR at thr PL

Sweet room! That had BETTER be Robin in that video. ;)

Have you had high tea with the Queen yet? Or, alternatively, have you downed a pint of ale while listening to Queen on your iphone?

FlyerTalkers rave about the benefits Starwood elite members receive in Europe. Looks like we've got confirmation from David.

I know you didn't ask, but while at the Pulitzer, you are close to Restaurant
"De Luwte". Mediterranean with a Dutch twist. We like it a lot - have been coming there for over 10 years. I love the salads. http://www.restaurantdeluwte.nl/ Website in Dutch, but it has a little map. Hard to miss.

If you are still looking for a place to have your laundry done - Rozengracht 59 (exit hotel, turn left / cross the canal (so do not pass the church), it should be the 1st block on your left - few minutes walk probably/ If you bring it before noon, it should be done the same day.

Have fun in Amsterdam!

Thanks - we saw the Washerette - today may be laundry day - we are tired. If I get a chance I will post videos from Hotel Pulitzer - we love this place - the crazy hallways and the location is superb.

Room at Hotel Pulitzer is up - Room 290 (not 209... Can't fix from iPhone Ap)

we went to laundry place on Elandsgracht (close) -- nicer - 16.5E - 2 loads done for us - same day

tx for the advice - lazy laundry day today

By far - stay at the Hotel Pulitzer if staying on SPs in Amsrerdam - you cannot beat the location and the hotel is great but be choosy about the room

Did you by any chance see a laundromat near your Park Lane hotel while you were in London. We plan to be in London for two weeks and would like to find a place to wash our clothes, instead of going the $5 for a pair of socks route!

TIA,

nonutrix

No- we did not - washed sox underwear in bathroom

just to follow-up - if anyone is plannng on a SP stay in London (ParkLane), Amsterdam (Hotel Pulitzer) ,and Paris (Westin) - please feel free to PM me.

Overall - our trip was fantastic - Robin had not yet gone to Europe and of course loved it.

Certainly an interesting fuzzy math use of SP value. Our room at Westin Paris was posted at 750E (over $1000/nite) - now of course we would never spend that - but if like airplane rides - staying at a first class hotel is important - then that makes our usage of the SP incentives we got for buying WPORV EOY really valuable.

We essentially used 225K SPs on our trip (our WPORV SP incentives) using the 5th night free incentive for Starwood hotels -

Park Lane: what a great location (Green Park and Hyde Park) if walking 2 blocks to a tube doesn't bother you. Our room (as posted) was unbelivable. I have to turn into one of those people who get their first room -find a problem - then politely discuss with the front desk person and getting a better room (happened 2x). Our first room was fine - but too close to the lift - and was moved to a room that I can only assume was unique. The executive rooms are better positioned within the hotel location-wise - so save your SPs and not upgrade.

The Hotel Pulitzer in Amsterdam is a must stay - what a great location in the Jordaan district. I could not see staying anywhere else as a Starwood hotel.

I would not stay at the Westin Paris again - we just didn't like the location - while an elegant hotel and close to the Jardin Tuleries and the Lourve - and in the first district - I think I will check out the PdG. And 26E for 2 coffees and 2 croisants - right LOL.

Our room was nice - but had to request a move from our first room (nicely) - it was a smoking room and had 2 double beds (we requested a non-smoking room and a King bed) - they said it was a non-smoking room but had a ashtray and matches (in reality they are all smoking rooms since it seems that most people smoke...) - and it was a small room with the 2 beds. After I was told they were sold out - they managed to come up with a very nice room (surprise!). The room was large and uniquely located with only one neighboring wall (luckily since the walls were paper thin - and even more lucky to have quiet neighbors ever nite).

What a great 15 nites overall.

anyway - sorry for the typos and lousy grammar - if you have questions let me know.
