II insurance for getaway

I am getting ready to buy a getaway from II for the Royal Haciendas in November. I wonder how worth it would be to buy insurance. The only reason we would end up not going is if the swine flu makes a dramatic comeback and things turn out crazy in the world of traveling. Any advice, did anyone ever buy and had to use the II insurance? :cheer:

Insurance is really only something you buy if you can't afford to lose what you are buying/owning. Money spent on a vacation is money spent to never be recovered. If I needed that $500 that I was spending, I wouldn't be going on vacation. For this reason we very rarely buy travel insurance.

It would be rare that H1N1 would be a clause allowing you to make a claim. If you were to come down with it, the insurance would payout.
