We are going here the last week in October and just wondered if anyone would recommend a certain unit area to request. Also wondering if there is internet available in units or nearby. Any recommendations for activities others have done would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping for good weather to enjoy the fall foliage, as well as golfing and Biltmore House. Is there a grocery store nearby?
 
Some units back up to a golf view, most to a woods view. I don't think there's a significantly better location within the resort.

AFAIK, wireless internet is only available in the Wyndham check-in lobby (different from VRI's check-in building) and in the Recreation building - both are free, 24 hours outside but only business hours inside. If your home account has a local dial-up option when traveling in that area, you may use it from the unit, with the jack on each phone - free local calls.

There's a large Ingles grocery store a very short distance from the intersection of Rtes. 64 & 9 (going away from the intersection on 9 south). It's about 15 minute drive from the resort, along the drive between the Lake Lure town area and the resort.

Early reports suggest they're expecting a colorful autumn this year and you'll likely arrive at the tail end of peak color since it's located in a thermal (warm) belt. Enjoy your visit!!! :)
