Frank Caliendo opened his new show at the Monte Carlo this week and we saw it last night. He's really funny and we thoroughly enjoyed the show. He has signed a 10-year contract for four shows a week.

It was the first time we had been inside the Monte Carlo and the first time to see a show there. We were impressed. What a beautiful place and the theater is great--lots of leg room and beautifully decorated. The casino was really crowded, too.

Garth Brooks has signed a contract to do an extended run at the Wynn - 15 weekends a year for 5 years - link

Caliendo is a local Milwaukee (Waukesha County) guy and is well known in these parts . . . we love him and happy to see him make good. We have seen him in the early days in small comedy clubs, and most recently as part of his national tour last winter that brought him to the larger (and less intimate) Riverside Theater.

He was most known for his John Madden impersonations, that landed him national recognition on the Fox NFL pregame show (where he has been a regular since Jimmy Kimmel left a few years ago). He has added many sports and political faces to his show, as well as those from show biz. He's been adaptable to the changing political climate and should do well in his Las Vegas run, even if 10 years is a long time.

He has a Facebook page for fans, so if you want to keep up with him and his tour, join :)

I would encourage anyone in Vegas to consider his show. I know we are looking forward to our next trip the Sin City and seeing him again!

Hi Karen. were there many people there? we have tickets for Oct 31st and had no problem getting front row seats and there are still front row avail.
It's probably because it's Halloween? also how long was the show? Thanks Bob
BTW Front row isn't a problem is it??? I know I wouldn't want a front row with comics like Vinnie Faverito etc.!

We were in the mezzanine section, which was mostly full, and from our vantage point the lower level was almost full. I don't know how many were in the balcony above us. The show was 1-1/2 hrs. long. Front row shouldn't be a problem as there's no interaction with the audience--should be fun to be that close. There is an overhead screen so that people further in the back can see his face better.

He had a band over on the left side of the stage and there is a video screen that shows pictures that go with whatever he happens to be talking about. On the right side of the stage was a desk, chair, and large case that he pulled a few props out of. He didn't use the desk or chair. In the paper it said that he includes some improvisation so there could be changes in his program. It's non-stop laughter and lots of fun. They advertise that it's appropriate for ages 13 and up so it's a clean show. Enjoy!

We went to another show at the Monte Carlo tonight (Zowie Bowie--highly recommended) and we sat in the fifth row. You are going to love sitting in the first row when you see Frank Caliendo. That will be a great place to sit for his show.
