Mayan Palace Riviera Mayan Off Property

My husband and I like to stay busy and leave the resort for activities. Is there bus transportation from the Mayan Palace into Playa del Carmen to go to restaurants, shopping, etc?

What do others recommend in terms of where to go for fun if one is staying at the Mayan Palace Riviera Maya?

We are Mayan owners -- does anyone know what they are charging for golf at the resort?

There is a shuttle from the resort to Playa del Carmen leaving several times a day for about 4.00 USD. We took it, but took a taxi back for 20.00 USD which was ok since there was four of us. The shuttle stops on 5th street not at Wal-mart so if you have a lot of groceries then the taxi would be better for the return.
 
Buses run along highway right in front of the Mayan Palace they cost 15ps. or about 1.50US they are great drop you off a few blocks from downtown 5th ave in Playa. Go to www.cancunmap.com and buy the map for Playa Del Carmen. It has hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of information I usually keep a few extras around my house to sell to friends. Check out the website you will be glad you did.
