ANy suggestions on where to stay in Bryce Canyon, in July?

We stayed at Ruby's Inn near Bryce. Nothing fancy but it was close to everything. It was a few years ago and it was just for one night.

We stayed at Rubys Inn about six weeks ago. They've just added a new, upscale facility across the road from their main hotel complex. There are PLENTY of accommodations of all types available. You should be able to find something that suits your taste and budget. Since it's right outside the entrance to BC, the location is perfect.

The ideal place to stay is at the park lodge or in one of the park lodge cabins. It's about the convenience of being able to walk to the rim, especially at night. But those accommodations are very limited and only open from April through October. They often book a full year in advance. So the next best place to stay is Rubys Inn, just outside the park. It's a family owned operation, but managed under the Best Western umbrella. They have a variety of room options including the brand new Grand hotel just opened this year. Again, it's not about luxury or being in a resort environment. It's all about Bryce Canyon NP.

We stayed at the Great Western right across from the main Ruby complex.
It was new, comfortable and priced right, about 10 dollars more than the small motels in the area and breakfast was included so it was a wash. I recommend it.

Date of visit was this summer.

I agree with the previous advise to stay at the cabins on the rim if you can. With either Ruby's or the new one, you have to get in your car to access anything. In the cabins, you can walk out your door for stargazing or sunrise, etc. It was definitely worth the extra money for me.
In addition, I'd like to recommend another spot. We also stayed in some little cabins at Kodachrome Basin State Park, about a half hour away from Bryce. They were a fantastic find. For about $100, you get a fairly new cabin with 2 Queen or doubles, micro, refrig, air + a picnic table on the porch for a fabulous dinner while watching the sunset. They are right in the park/canyon and you can access the trails in the area from your cabin. It's also located at the north end of the Cottonwood Rd/Skumptapah roads in Grand Staircase Escalante. The cabins were just sold to a young couple and they haven't got a website up yet. Phone is 435-679-8536.
