Based on their website, it looks like it hasn't opened yet, or has been open less than a month...

Cibalo Vista

It is going to be beautiful! Great location and very nice place. (we live around the corner from it) I got a post card today that they received their occupancy certificate on Oct 30.........But it also said the Grand Opening is scheduled for February 1st. Seems like a significant time delay doesn't it?

Some places have a "soft opening" first, to train staff and get the bugs out of the system.

It's pretty much isolated. It is open but Denise is right. The Grand Opening (official) will be later. Heh, there's one on ebay right now. I think someone's just checking out interest, though. The reserve should be $10,000 or more based on the fact the developer hasn't sold all the units. Also, I understand frist right of refusal is in effect. The good news is it's not that far from Scottsdale-maybe 30 miles- and the rest of the world. The west side is still developing. Check back in 4-6 years. Regardless of all that, it's 80 degrees here today, what's the temperature where your at-especially in January-March 2006??

It is very close to Peoria Sports Complex and Spring Training Baseball. (Seattle Mariners)/ It is also probably the closest resort to the new Glendale Cardinal's Stadium where the Fiesta Bowl and College Bowl will be played in 2007. The Super Bowl will be played there in 2008. The West side is definetly growing, and the previous poster is correct in saying give it 4-5 years. It really is an easy drive to North Scottsdale, and 1 hour 10 minutes from Sedona. It is affiliated with the new Vistancia golf course and also with Quintara in Wickenburg.

I disagree that 'II should know better'... know what???... many vacationers are quite happy spending most, if not all, of their time at the resort... many vacationers LOVE being among the first to use a 'new' resort... I think that an experienced traveler should know how to check-out the features of their destination as to how it 'fits' with their personal vacation expectations, rather than to assume that everyone wants the same thing.... Re: cibola vista resort

My OM and I went out there specifically to see if we could get some photos to post. What I can tell you is that it is still under construction, there's like one or two "cities"-eventually there will be six or so. The pool that is there will become the adult pool once the family pool and lazy river is built (early next year?) There are horses in the back (ah, smell that hot breeze) and the reviews are very current (for obvious reasons). The one thing I will say is they are very nicely furnished. Granite countertops, nice jacuzzi tubs, washer and dryers in every unit. I don't think they have any "suites" yet but the lock offs are very, very nice and even have washer and dryers in them. There is a lot of construction in the area and within a few short months there should be the infrastructure that you need (grocery stores). They are kind of out there by themselves. Lake Pleasant is about 8 miles away. Another advantage, if you want to call it that, is they are in the northwest part of the Valley-a goodly distance from the Scottsdale area and anything resembling refined civilization. Slightly closer to Sedona, Grand Canyon and some of the Spring baseball leagues in Surprise. Sorry, they wouldn't let my husband take any pictures. I would say give them another 9-12 months.

Re: cibola vista resort

Beautiful high end resort almost half finished and open since last year in winter. Lots of good restaurants near the Peoria Sport's complex like PF Changs, Chhesecake Factory, Fireside, Cattlemens Abuelos, Buca De beppo,
