Moderator note: There have already been over 800 posts on Marriott's new points/exchange system. Someone looking for an answer to a question may well have difficulty finding that answer at TUG or may have to wade through 100s of posts to do so.

To make it easier for people to find answers, I will be applying a much more strict approach to deleting posts that are not on topic of a particular thread. Be forewarned that I will delete such off-topic posts rather than moving them. Thus, for example, if you want to complain or comment about the fairness of the difference in points received for your week versus points needed for an exchange, I will likely delete it if you post in the thread titled, "Points Assigned vs Points to Reserve - What is your Percentage?"

Eventually, we will likely have something about the new system as a sticky or in the FAQ section of this forum, but there is still too much that's unknown to do that as yet.

Man, have you got your job cut out for you in the next few days. The mother in me is worried for your stamina - please make sure you drink plenty of water, eat three square meals and get your required rest.

Seriously, Dave, thanks for all you'll be doing to keep this board in a somewhat organized fashion.

I think I'll stop posting. That should save you about 200 posts to go through. ;)

As a moderator on a totally different board - I THANK YOU for what you do! Gooooooooo Dave!!!:cheer:

And I feel your pain....hopefully you have some other mods to help you out for at least the first few days.

Seriously - thank you!

Hi Dave.

I do not know if this have been addressed before, but with such a new change/enhancement upon us, it would be extremely valuable to the TUG-MVCI community to have an official Marriott presence here, at least a temporary one for the short term to help provide answers that my fellow TUGers are bringing up. Whether or not they know it, I envision the stakes for some members are high in deciding whether to enroll in the new program or not.

The last thing Marriott would want at this important point in their history are existing members getting upset from the get-go over inaccurate interpretations of the new program's details. Furthermore, it would benefit all (members and Marriott alike) if there is a forum (outside the sales presentation) to provide accurate details about the new program so members can make informed decisions based on facts not interpretation (from others' or from one's own readings). I have a feeling that the VOA's, chat, etc won't cut it. I have already seen a few discrepancies in what folks have been reporting that a Marriott rep has told them.

Just my thoughts.

Good idea Dave

I would encourage you to actually start some new threads with particular areas of interests to simplify things and for ease of use. Some suggestions would include Trading with II in the new system, converting to Marriott rewards in the new system, complaints about the new system, using points in the new system. You could come up with five or ten that would be helpful at least to me.

Bumping the moderator's message.

A gentle suggestion - See if there is already a thread related to your topic, before you start a new one.
