FYI... some of you may already know this but I just noticed the wording on the RCI website changed. It now states the 1 in 4 rule includes Hilton Club members at least for the HGVC resorts in Orlando, Vegas, New York and Hawaii.

For example, the RCI search result for HGVC at Seaworld states under Urgent Information "resort enforces the 1 in 4 year rule, including Hilton Club members."

NOTE: The 1 in 4 rule is resort specific (this rule doesn't apply to the group of resorts).

IIRC - The 1 in 4 rule applies to HGVC members but does not apply to your home resort. If I own at HGVC SoBe, I can trade into it through RCI and the 1 in 4 rule is waived. At least this is what I was told by an RCI phone rep ....

How would RCI know that your home resort was SoBe? Do you have to tell 'em?
----------
BTW, we're only dealing with RCI exchanges back into HGVC, not club reservations.

I have an RCI account with other Non-HGVC resorts that I own so I had them add the HGVC Sobe and two other HGVC properties when I bought them. I doubt that I'll ever trade them through RCI direct but they are listed on the account in case I ever want to.

That's how they know that I owned at the HGVC resort I was asking about.

And yes, I'm only talking about exchanges through RCI directly, not through HGVC or the HGVC/RCI reservation system.

If you trade within the HGVC system as an HGVC owner, there is no 1 in 4 rule. If you are trading within RCI, the rules are different.
