I am sure asked and answered ad nauseum but (without searching through a ton old old threads), can someone give some advice to avoid the dreaded parking lot views....we are coming on an Interval 2 BR exchange and have never stayed here before. What building should we request....which should we avoid?

Thanks in advance

Ask for Building 2 or 3, high floor, for the best "ocean views".

FYI, Building 4 odd-numbered units on upper floor all have very nice ocean/pool views, even though they're designated "island view". Lower floors, and even-numbered units in Building 4 are the parking lot views.

How do we put in a room request? Is there a specific person we should talk to or can you email it?

I would Fax it to the resort as soon as you have the reservation. (Make sure you state that you are Starwood owners trading in through II or SVN exchangers.) Then follow up with a phone call about 10 days out.

I always request:
1) Bldg. 2 or 3 - not Bldg. 4
2) High floor
3) A unit numbered 16 or higher

I wouldn't get any more specific than that, because it will limit your options.
