YEAH!

I had a 2 bed at tortuga for the same week, but i decided to get the 2 bedroom at the grand instead, even though i had to pay another exchange fee.

Someone tell me it was worth the $179!

Sorry, but its impossible to tell you if your deal is worth the extra $$ without knowing a) which week did you get ? b) your family preferences and interests c) what motivated you to take Morritts Grand. We spent one week there two years ago and found the place too isolated. We have no plans to go back. If you have never been there its worth the experience. For a young family that enjoys water sports and fishing, this place is made for you. If your timing is right you will enjoy wonderful ocean views from a sandy beach ( if not, you may have an unusual experience coping with a tropical storm). If your family likes shopping, its not the best destination. Overall, personally we prefer other destinations.

we will be going july 2 - 9, 2011.

we had the tortuga booked, but the grand came up so switched there.

Unless your Tortuga unit was guaranteed oceanfront, yes, IMO it was worth the $179.

We found plenty to do there, and had a very active week. Normally our trips are non-stop sightseeing; we frankly expected more downtime at Morritts, and it didn't happen. We really loved it, and would probably go back.
