We are in St John right now - met with our sales guy for lunch and attended the owners update this afternoon - lots of info which i will post later.

In the meantime wanted to make you WSJ owners aware that they have a couple of 'deals' for owners only (must be an owner in WSJ via developer - not resale). If they would have allowed me to retro my harborside unit for 20k i would have considered one of these units!

Sept & October weeks in 3 bdrm pool villas - annual - $19,995 with 104k additional staroptions and 105k starpoints. They are trying to get rid of the remaining inventory in the 3bdrm/pool villas. Some people have purchased for 2012 usage and using the 104k options for 2011 - good idea to avoid the maint fees for 2011. They also had a Studio in week 52 in unit 3318 for $28,495 - again - owners only. Not sure what they were selling it to non owners for - probably the same amount. :) Call Kurt H.

I have no idea why they don't communicate this info to owners.

for those 3bdrm pool villa owners out there - - the flood actually did more damage to some of these units than the hillside. Building 44 was particularly hard hit but you would never know it - they have done a great job getting it all back to normal. Definitely still some issues but considering how bad it was - it looks fantastic and we are in the unit that got hit the hardest.

Hmmm ... that's an interesting offer for September/October weeks. I was there in October 2009 and the weather was wonderful. Of course ... this year was different ... but I think those who were forced to cancel were able to be accommodated elsewhere.

Don't need another week .... keep repeating to self, don't need another week.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the 3 bedroom pool villa's. Was the damage to building 44 because the mudslide shelf seems to come down the hill just behind that building group? I own unit 4111, do you know if the building 41 experienced any damage? I only get to go to St. John once a year, but my heart is always there. Thanks, Pam

Pam - I was told that all of the pool villas had some damage from the flood and building 44 got hit hard because of the Rock wall right behind it so mud was everywhere. They also had some flooding where all of the electrical and phone lines run for these villas and some units are still not back to normal. 4411 has no working phone so the Westin is supplying them with a cell phone to use.

There is no question that the storms damaged this property badly but I think Starwood is doing a great job recovering in a short period of time.

Sound like February is a big month when much of the new furniture, umbrellas, sand, water toys start to arrive.

Offer still going for now

This week I was offered an early October EOY Pool villa for $11,000 or annual for $19,995. The offer was too good to pass up, so I bit on the EOY. Now I will need to unload another timeshare to justify it. I have been looking for this particular week resale (my birthday week), but I haven't seen it in EOY or for less than $11k.
