Creative accounting by Marriott for EOY owners

Anyone notice this? If you own two EOYs at a resort they charge you double than if you owned one yearly unit. I was charged two Florida Club fees for two EOYs and they also attempted to charge two ARDA contributions as well. My holdings add up to four yearly vacation units which they proposed a payment of $60 for ARDA. With the worthless Florida Club (IMO) and the worthless ARDA fees (IMO) the total billing was $93.56 over maintenance fees and taxes.

On the brighter side, when locking off I have seven weeks at a cost of $654.40 per vacation week. No wonder Marriott got rid of lockoffs for new buyers. I didn't pay ARDA anything but did have to pay the Florida Club. I'm sure there is some theoretical justification at MVCI headquarters for this practice. Why two weeks of EOY ownership is charged Florida Club every year is beyond me. Maybe they are charging half price. There's no explanation if they are.

However, the ARDA fees are not half. I wonder how many EOY owners have let this slide by unnoticed. Just another reason to make your good customers turn against you.
 
If you enroll an EOY in the DC, don't they also charge you the DC fee EY?

That's very interesting because there is a current thread in the Wyndham forum about Wyndham doing the same thing.
 
The ARDA fee is voluntary, so you can choose to only pay it on one week or not at all. How much are they charging for the club fee on each unit?

Yes. I was told it was because you can borrow/bank points into the year that you don't have. i just look at is as a vacation cost that I have to pay. Kinda like parking at the airport.

If you sign up for a multi year account with II, you also end up paying the annual II fee every year even when one owns a every other year week. So DC really isn't different from II except that the fee is much higher.

You don't pay for the right to park your car; you only pay if you actually park your car. Marriott charges the fee because they can, not because you derive any value from it.
