I'm finally facing up to the fact that I have way more timeshares than I have vacation and would love to see these go to a good home:

Sheraton Vistana Springs Annual Fixed Week 32 / Enrolled in RCI Points

  • Two-Bedroom / Two Bath / Sleeps 8
  • King Bed in Master Bedroom / Two Doubles in Guest Bedroom / Sofabed
  • Annual Points Allotment 67,000 Points
  • 2011 Maintenance Fee $753.26 paid in full (1.125 cents/point)
  • 21840 Points Remaining for 2011 Week – free to new owner if desired
  • Usage begins in 2012 (67000 Points will be available to borrow against the 2012 Week in August 2011)

New owner pays closing/transfer fee, and RCI Points Membership Transfer Fee if wishes to remain enrolled in RCI Points. If the purchaser already has an RCI Points account, the transfer fee is $98 USD / $107 CAD. If the purchaser does not have a Points account, the fee is $222 USD / $229.25 CAD.

Note: There’s no cost to withdraw from RCI Points upon transfer – that’s always an option.

Sheraton Vistana Falls Annual Fixed Week 15

  • 2011 Maintenance Fee $718.10 paid in full
  • Usage begins in 2012 (Sunday 4/08/12, which is Easter Sunday)
  • Two-Bedroom / Two Bath / Sleeps 6
  • King Bed in Master Bedroom / Twin Beds in Guest Bedroom / Sofabed
  • Not enrolled in RCI Points but if anyone is interested in taking both units, RCI does permit Vistana Owners to deposit non-enrolled weeks into their Points Accounts at the generic grid value (45000 points, I believe)
  • Lots of trading flexibility – Starwood Preference Period in II, RCI Weeks, RCI Points
  • Have successfully rented when unable to use

New Owner pays closing/transfer fee.

Sheraton Broadway Plantation Annual Gold Plus Float – One Bedroom

  • 2011 Maintenance Fee $547.98 paid in full
  • Usage begins in 2012 or can reimburse maintenance and guest certificate fees and I’ll transfer the 2011 usage at Harborside Dec 3-10 in a one-BR unit if desired
  • One-Bedroom / One Bath / Sleeps 4
  • King in Master Bedroom / Sofabed
  • Tiger Trader with II and SFX:
...............2010 Traded with SFX – received a prime Spring Break week in Mexico, a July week at the Manhattan Club and a third bonus week
...............2009 Traded to Disney’s Villas at Wilderness Lodge*
...............2008 Traded for Westin St John
...............2007 Traded for Disney’s Beach Club Villas*
...............2006 Traded for Disney’s Old Key West*

New owner pays closing/transfer fee
*As most Tuggers know, Disney now trades through RCI

Starwood timeshares

sorry, meant to send this in a PM!
I'll try it again.

Why are you getting rid of these? Are there issues at Vistana os SBP?

-TJ

I'm not aware of any issues with Vistana or SBP. Here are my reasons:

  • Own way too many to keep up with them all
  • Moved to Florida late last year and only get 4 weeks of vacation at my new job (vs. almost 7 at my old job).
  • So many great last minute getaways that are drivable here in Florida -- I have a theory that Florida residents don't feel the need to travel as much as Northeasterners and Midwesterners! :)
  • Used to work in a big HQ type of place and was able to rent very easily with little or no effort. Now work in a small office without hundreds of potential renters.
  • We own several that we use every year and I'm keeping a couple of traders for personal use and for friends/family that come to me for cheap vacations every year -- including both a SBP and a Vistana week. :) But, getting rid of duplicate resorts that I use for traders.

Lots of interest -- only the SBP is gone. I'll post an update if the person backs out and none of the other people who have already inquired are interested.

Here are answers to the many questions I received overnight:

  • As far as the one-BR trading for two-BRs, it's definitely doable with instant exchanges, but if you always need a 2-BR, I'd recommend a 2-BR 'cuz you just never know when II will tighten up the trading rules and it requires a 2-BR to place an ongoing search for a 2-BR. I don't think Starwood likes Tuggers bragging about getting 2-BR Hawaii units with one-BR traders -- it hurts their sales efforts!

  • The Week 15 Orlando unit definitely trades for the 2-BRs in Hawaii with II, and for all the other Starwood resorts when they're deposited (it saw all the 2-BRs at Harborside in a bulk banking a couple of months ago). I think the week 32 would also, but I can't swear by it since it's been with RCI points so I haven't used it to search in II.

  • Both Vistana weeks are regular 2-BRs -- not lockoffs.

  • No StarOptions (internal Starwood trading) with either Vistana unit. You have to use II, RCI, SFX, etc.

  • Both Vistana weeks have been renovated recently and look great. You can see pictures here -- scroll down to Falls and Springs:

  • No special assessments expected. There was a large SA for the renovations, but I think it was the only one in ~30 years. I think Starwood learned its lesson (people were MAD) and now collects sufficient reserves to avoid or at least minimize them in the future.

  • I believe the Vistana units are excluded from trading into DVC Orlandos (but not Vero Beach, Hilton Head or California if they ever start depositing those weeks). The best bang for your buck is Starwood-to-Starwood trading in II for $104. Getting a 2-BR Westin Maui/Kauai, Harborside, etc. with a $750 trader is a great deal.

  • There is a TUG member who does very basic closings for $100 (I think that's all that would be needed since there's no money at risk). Full service closings are $250 - $350, I think (maybe less since no escrow would be needed).

closing TUGGER

how do I contact the TUGGER who does closings that you referred to?

Jerseygirl if sbp falls through would let me know. Love Myrtle beach. Thank you.
