Kaanapali Westin construction loud?

My husband and I will be staying at the Westin Kaanapali ocean villa resort this Jan. of 2006.
Has anyone experienced a recent stay there while under construction?
Will I need ear plugs?
Any advice on requesting a certain area of resort?

I have heard that you will want to stay in an OV on the inside or facing south.
perhaps others know more. I would strongly bring it up when checking in.
enjoy

Resorts: Marriott Kauai Beach Club, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach, Cibola Vista Resort.
we just returned from WKBFV and our room 2218-2216 faced the construction. Honestly, the noise wasn't that bad but the whole ambience thing was lost. We never used our balcony! On the other hand, we had friends in the "3" building that faced the pool and we spent all our time on their balcony. Really, really try to not be in the "2" building unless you can have an interior room that faces the pool. The 3 building had shade all morning and afternoon and was delightful. All in all.............it was an awesome resort even facing construction and cranes!

Resorts: Starwood-WKORV, SDO, & SVR, Branson-Roark Vacation Club, Tahoe-Kingsbury Crossing, Kauai Beach Villas - 2 weeks
Unless the numbers have changed, building 1 is the original building and it is adjacent to construction, on the north side. Building 2 is the on the south side of the pool, and building 3 is closest to the highway. If you are an exchanger, you are probably not going to be able to select a location.

If you are an owner, you will get the view you own - Ocean Front, Ocean View, or Mountain View, but location may vary. If you are an owner, you should call owner's services and request the location that you want ASAP - don't wait until you get there. I recommend that you request not to be placed in building 3, or on the north side of building 1, and request the top floor, as close to the beach as possible.
Good luck!

I saw some consturction pictures somewhere, and I'll post the link as soon as I find it.

Denise, are you sure about those building numbers? I thought Building 1 was actually the lobby building and that Building 2 was the unit building next to the construction and the first one that opened. Buildings 3 and 4 are the newer ones on the south side of the resort, 4 being the one parallel to the highway.
