This was an interesting tidbit that I gleaned from our presentation today in Aruba. I had to pull to get this information and the sales rep really didn't even know about it. They had a matrix/grid showing benefits of the different levels of ownership (Owner, Premier, Premier Plus). In the Marriott Collection section it mentioned the following:
Owner - Stay 50 nights upgrade to Gold Elite, 75 nights upgrade to Platinum Elite. This is the standard MR stuff.
Premier - 3 year upgrade to Gold Elite with new DC points purchase.
Premier Plus - 3 year upgrade to Platinum Elite with new DC point purchase.
So if you are a Premier or Premier Plus owner and purchase DC points, you get an elite status upgrade. This verbiage isn't verbatim since I don't have the paper and it indicated on it that it was for internal distribution only. The reason I say the rep didn't know much about it is because he had to read it to understand it also.
