I just came back from my visit to Maui and did stay at the WKROVN. We got the deal in the mail from the resort to stay there for little $, included a rental car, and resort credit of $150 after going thru the presentation.

I had a great time there.

I have to say that I did give in and bought into the Lagunamar resort at the Gold or gold plus level. After reading the fine print and the actual weeks I would be allow to stay there with a 2br/2bth unit for a week, I came to the conclusion that it would be better to rescind/cancel. They did not line up with the kids vacations. I kind of figured it. I actually sent the signed cancellation from Maui via priority mail on my way to the airport. They were nice enough to include a cancellation letter in the packet. All I needed to do is sign it and mail it in. I did get signature confirmation and have verified it was delivered and signed for. Should I call there and verify it was cancelled?

I also found this website and it is a godsend. A lot of very useful information.

I do plan to buy a KROVN unit in the future though redweek or something. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger come the Nov-Dec 2012 time frame. I would like to see how this whole tax ordeal pans out.

I look forward to spending more time reading the forums here and learning more.

Welcome Larry! You did the right thing to rescind to reconsider your options on how/if to purchase a timeshare. I presume you paid something with a credit card --make sure that charge is reversed, which should happen in a few days. Others can give you more specifics on the Maui process.

Got the call.

My wife checked her voicemail on the phone and she got a call from the senior sales mgr. They'll be crediting my credit card back.

Thanks!
