I am new to the time share game, years ago I got scammed in Mexico... Hoping to be more knowledgeable this time around. I recently bought a Bluegreen timeshare deeded at Paradise Point (close to Big Cedar) I am learning I could probably have gotten a better deal in the resale arena, I have two days left on my rescind and I was looking for some opinions, I like the extra perks you get from the developer, however I've also read that if you go through an authorized reseller that they will still qualify... Here's what I got. 15,000 points, Charter benefits, travelers plus, bronze vip status for $1.43 per point... What are some opionions?

I don't know one thing about Bluegreen, but I know that NO timeshare is worth nearly $25,000! Rescind and buy resale. If it turns out to still, after much studying and input from other Bluegreen owners here, be a good deal, the developers' deal will still be available.

As to certain perks only available to developer purchases, are they worth $10-$15,000 or more? And since you wouldn't be able to pass those along to a buyer, that makes your purchase have no resale value. Me, I'd steer clear.

You only get one chance to $ave Thou$and$. Rescind.

Welcome to TUG.

And if one post is good 3 don't make it better. Just post once.

The rescind instructions are in your contract. Follow them to the letter.
It usually involves sending a letter to a provided address. Suggest you send the letter registered with receipt requested.

Resale points do not come with charter benefits.

Your best bet is to rescind then maybe buy 3000 points from BG to get the benefits, and add on with resale points later. Please note, those resale points will not get you to Premier levels, so if those perks are important to you, it's important to understand that there is a difference in how you acquire the points.

Check us out on the Yahoo Group for Bluegreen, where you will find the reseller of choice that will help you understand your options in order to get what you need economically.

Bluegreen is a great system, I'm a happy owner for more than a decade with no need for any other ts.
